The therapists at NeuroTherapy Specialists, Inc. are highly trained to evaluate each adult with a neuromotor disorder and apply best practice principles in neuro-rehabilitation. The patient’s priorities and participation goals are foremost in establishing an individualized plan of care to produce the best outcomes. The diagnoses and conditions often seen include:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Stroke (CVA)
- Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI)
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Frederick’s Ataxia (FA)
- Other Neurological Conditions
- Gait abnormality
- Coordination/ Balance/ Vestibular Abnormality
- Muscular Disorders
Physical Therapy may include: Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Stroke Recovery, Balance Training, Neuro-Developmental Treatment Approach and the use of Electrical Stimulation for early motor recovery, casting and orthotics, family training.
Occupational Therapy interventions may include: Neuro-Developmental Treatment Approach, upper extremity rehabilitation, splinting, electrical stimulation, sensory retraining, Interactive Metronome®, visual perceptual motor, fine motor, cognitive therapy, daily living skills, family training.
Speech Therapy addresses dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia and cognitive deficits, executive dysfunctions, fluency skills, AAC (Alternative Augmentative Communication), family training
